Bejewelled Victorian style cameo brooch
This is a truly sumptuous piece of Victorian style jewellery. This large (2.75" x 2.25") cameo is presented on a jewel-encrusted frame made up of new and vintage crystal stones in starlight, sapphire aurora, green tourmaline, deep turquoise and dark blue.The cameo, itself, is crafted in mock ivory on a dark background to accent the detail of the beautiful Victorian female subject. |

Egyptian look egret in a field of turquoise enamel and set with smoke crystals. This Art Nouveau styled brooch stands 3" high and is yet another fine example of the antique look jewellery in the "Sweet Romance" collection.
Enamelling was such an important part of the Art Nouveau jeweller's skill set (Plique-a-Jour being the highly expert form of enamelling used to produce the stained-glass effect that is so prominant in Art Noveau) and here you see wonderful enamelling being used to superb effect. |
